50% of Brazilians prefer to make purchases using taxi or transport by application, shows SPC Brazil

The competition generated by the entry of the new transport platforms per application in the market is changing the requirement pattern of the Brazilian consumer, increasingly avid for alternatives that save time and money, without giving up quality and Convenience. A survey of the Credit Protection Service (SPC Brazil) and the National Confederation of Shopkeepers (Cndl) sought to understand Brazilians ' relationship at the time of choosing private paid transportation services and shows that half of the interviewees (50 %) stated that they prefer to make purchases using private transportation services such as taxi or transport by application, such as Uber and Cabify, for being cheaper than other alternatives available.

In a comparison taking into account only taxis and transport platforms per application, the survey reveals that more than half of Brazilians (65%), especially those between 18 and 34 years (77%), agree that they began to use more transport by Application in place of taxis depending on the price offered. 58% also cited the superior quality of the service.

The study also mapped out the most used means of transport for shopping. In the opinion of the Brazilians interviewed, going shopping using the private transportation services is preferable to being more comfortable (55%), especially for young people between 18 and 34 years (64%), and also for being easily accessible (55%), with more frequency Between 18 and 34 years of age (63%).

The new platforms per application have taken advantage compared to taxis in many categories researched. According to the interviewees, getting around using transport services by applications is more usual than asking for a taxi mainly to perform leisure activities like going to bars, restaurants, cinema, Parties and parks (18% of the quotes against 6% of Taxis), make purchases away from home (10% of the quotations, in front of 6% of the taxis) and go to the Doctor/dentist (6% of the citations, front 3% of the taxis).

"Reflecting an increasingly connected and networked society, the entry of information technology coupled with private transport services has enabled for the first time the direct approximation between drivers and passengers", analyzes the president of SPC Brazil, Roque Pellizzaro.

Considering both the new application transport platforms, such as taxi platforms such as 99 taxis and Easy taxi, it is currently possible to call a car, track the race itinerary in real time and also assess the quality of the service provided. "As the data shows, this paradigm shift has changed the way Brazilians move and consume, especially the youngest, of course more adherents to this type of innovation," says the president.

For Pellizzaro, in the case of market laws, the demand suppressed by transportation of quality of the Brazilian was attended by private transport services, taking into account those who can pay for this type of service. "In order for the urban mobility equation to be extended to all and to guarantee attributes such as efficiency, safety and ecological awareness, it is still necessary to have public policies and concrete investments that encourage the collective transport of quality, the integration And the best planning of the occupation of the public space ", he explains.
