The delinquency in the trade of Campina Grande returned to present growth in the month of May and brought concern for retail. According to the monthly analysis of consumer indebtedness, held by the Chamber of Shopkeepers (CDL) with SPC Brazil, the Campinense consumer returned to debt after a period of recovery.

   According to the diagnosis, 1,442 consumers entered the list of debtors only in the last month. In the same period last year the number of defaulters was equal to 1,147. 24% change. In the accumulated year, the Campina Grande trade registered 6,037 people in the National Register of Debtors, which represents an increase of 9% compared to the first five months of 2016, when 5,544 people acquired some debt.

   In the vision of the President of the CDL, Artur Pellet, the political and economic crises have caused a scenario of oscillations and uncertainties which has been damaging the city's trade. "Unemployment grew alarmingly in Campina Grande in the month of April, coupled with this you observe people with less purchasing power and increasingly concerned with the situation that the country faces. Obviously retail ends up feeling the impacts of all these factors, "said the shopkeeper.

   The perspective of the CDL is that the month of June is a recovery for retail with a view to the Junan festivities. "The scenario is not favourable for temporary hires in trade stores, but it is at this time that a series of informal employment opportunities arise for people wishing to work in the greater São João do Mundo, this makes us believe that many Consumers will leave the red later this month, "said Artur.
