Even with few hires, trade remains optimistic for the period of São João

The low generation of jobs has concerned the sectors of the productive economy in Campina Grande. According to the general registry of employees and Unemployed (caged), the Ministry of Labor, the city closed 237 vacancies only in the month of April. These data cause concern because they contribute to the increase in the number of unemployed and collaborate for the weak recovery of retail sales.

Retail, by the way, was one of the sectors that fired more than he hired over the last month. There were 253 hires against 267 demissions, generating a negative balance of 14 closed jobs and bringing concern to the workers and shopkeepers.

According to the president of CDL, Artur Almeida (Pellet), the prospect of the generation of retail jobs in Campina Grande is not encouraging at all. Even with St. John (considered the second best period of the year in sales in trade, behind Christmas only) approaching, the shopkeeper believes that few opportunities will be launched to fill the temporary vacancies that always appeared in years Previous.

"I believe that this year we will not have many hires for the period of St. John. There will be yes for people who want to work at the party itself as in the people's Park and in other places where there will be some attraction, but in the Campina Grande trade the hires will be very few ", he reported.

Even so, the sector remains optimistic about the increase in sales volume during the period of the June festivals. The entity's estimate is that the campinense retail sector has a growth of 4% compared to the same period last year. The apparel, footwear, accessories and food sectors are the ones that should profit more from the season.
