CDL Search points optimism for sales in Easter period

Considered one of the most important dates for the supermarket sector, Easter should generate a warming in sales in the Campina Grande trade even during the recovery period of the economy. According to a survey carried out by the House of Shopkeepers (CDL) with consumers, the intention is to go shopping, however, spending less. Among the associates who work in the typical product sectors of that time, most of them bet on the increase in sales.

Altogether, 46.7% of respondents said they intend to make purchases this Easter, even if they are more controlled at the time of purchase. For 44.1% of consumers the average value of purchases should not exceed R $100. Already 36.5% responded that they do not intend to present in this period.

Most of the campinenses (43.5%) responded that they intend to carry out the Easter shopping in hypermarkets or malls. In the sequence, the neighborhood trade (24.7%), free trade fairs (21.2%) and others (10.6%) are shown.

Chocolates appear as preferred among people who intend to buy this Easter (38.8%). Afterwards, the cold-fish and cheeses (27.5%), other items (18.5%) and beverages (15%) appear. 

The research wanted to know whether the Campinenses intend to travel in Holy Week and found that the majority of respondents (43.4%) will even stay in the city during the holiday. 

Expectation: 

According to the survey conducted with entrepreneurs in the supermarket sector, the estimate is growth of up to 15% in the sales of products related to Easter. The justification for optimism is due, according to the tenants, to the facilities found at the time of the consumer to choose and pay the goods. "We are parcelling the purchases of products related to the period. We are also conducting promotions and improving our inventory already looking at increasing sales, "said the manager of a supermarket network in the city. 

Methodology: 

Altogether, the research listened to 317 consumers in the center of Campina Grande and through the CDL channels in social media between March 27th and April 03.
